Womb Lumiere, 2011rigid and flexible photopolymers, led components7” x 4.25” x 4.5”
The insertion of a finger into the soft orifice of this lumiere will create a soft internal glow from inside the rear bulbous end, as if this intimate interaction subsequently results in the creation of life inside this womb like form. This organism, able to reflect the physical contact it experiences, is composed of spongy flesh-like plastic and a ridged exoskeleton making it able to seductively entice and yet protect it’s form.

Envelope Backpiece, 2012
acrylic, resin, copper electroformsilicone
20” x 13” x 10.5”

The rippled fins, with their copper growths, catch and reflect light as if pluming; or perhaps it is a spectacle of warning that they make instead. Worn as if it were a barrier, this backpiece guards the wearer’s vulnerability with swelled and flush stinging ends. Gentle to envelope and embrace its host, the front silicone hinge allows the piece to open and be removed.

In “Showcase 500 Art Necklaces”, published by Lark Crafts.

Wilting Bounty Neckpiece, 2011
rigid and flexible photopolymers
13” x 6.5” x 2.5”

These two plentiful cirri, ripe with fruit, sag under the weight of their bounty. Presented in the moment as matured flora, this neckpiece has reached its peek of vibrancy before the quick decline of existence. Its soft gentle spines caress the neck as the weight of the wilting surplus can be felt upon the breast.
